Position InformationBankstown Girls High School Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school located in Sydney's Southwest, with an enrolment of 550 students, including 2 Aboriginal students. The school's diverse community includes 98% of students from non-English speaking backgrounds, with 36% requiring support in English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).
The school provides a stimulating learning environment with a strong focus on STEAM pedagogy, design thinking and inquiry-based learning to enhance academic performance and foster creativity and innovation. Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria,
- Proven capacity to lead the implementation of the School Excellence Plan, with a focus on reflective, evidence informed, evaluative practices to improve the learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students.
- Demonstrated capacity to nurture, support and lead a diverse and dynamic staff and leadership team through inclusive and equitable practices that bring out the strengths and potential of every individual.
- A highly visible, approachable leader with outstanding interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with a strong commitment to enhancing partnerships with parents, external agencies and the wider community.
High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for 2025 and Principal Level P3 for 2026.
