The school collaborates actively with its P&C Association and engages extensively with the broader school community.

The school also implements the Newcastle Thriving Schools Program, focusing on Quality Teaching Rounds and in 2025 focused on cognitive load theory, and explicit teaching practices to enhance instructional quality.

A strong commitment to Aboriginal education is evident through the continued teaching and learning of the Gamilaraay language.
