**About the role**

Place Managers are driven to connect people to place, and take a data and evidence-based look at what makes an area liveable and loveable. You’ll have access to significant budgets to use your understanding of place-making to deliver high quality and distinctive capital projects, activations, and community engagement initiatives.

Place Managers lead, develop, manage and contribute to strategic, complex, diverse, sensitive projects and multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to the delivery of Council’s strategic outcomes. You will undertake a multi-disciplinary approach to the planning, delivery and management of all your projects through the integration of social, economic and environmental trends in order to achieve a place-based outcome for the community.

This role requires strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, the ability to prepare strategic information, place and project plans, and deliver innovative and effective place-based strategies to fulfil the delivery of Council’s vision and strategic objectives within a place. You will engage in consultations with an array of internal and external stakeholders - including Councillors, senior staff, local organisations and community members - to plan, develop and deliver the place-making initiatives and projects as identified in Council’s Strategic and Management Plan.

**About You**

You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills in leadership, coordination, negotiation, consultation, teamwork and change management, including the ability to build strong and productive partnerships within Council, with local residential and business communities, government bodies and local organisations to deliver on Council’s Strategic Plan. You will have experience leading, developing and managing strategic and complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.

**Qualifications**

One or more academic qualifications or evidence of exceptional experience in a related field of expertise

**What’s on offer**

This is a contract opportunity up to 6 months.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $137,435 to $151,322 including super.

Participation in Council’s Motor Vehicle Scheme will be discussed with the successful applicant.
