Unique role for a Volunteers Program Coordinator/Manager for a NFP. Flexible Salary and Work Arrangements

**Your new company**
A not-for-profit, registered charity, member and volunteer-based company with a core team of approximately 35 staff, 300 active volunteers along with its passionate membership base. Base in Sydney / Thirlmere - with occasional travel to other sites and some weekend events. Open to full-time, part-time and WHF arrangements.

**Your new role**
Volunteers Program Coordinator/Manager (VPC/M) Officer role is a broad multi-faceted people role that works across all areas of organisation. The VPC/M works hand-in-hand with various business areas in the traditional sense as a HR Business Partner, as well as to support today’s volunteers and looking to the future to drive and support the planning for tomorrow’s volunteers to meet ongoing business needs.
Responsibilities include:
Managing/Coordinating the Volunteers Program
- Recruitment, induction and ongoing development and training of volunteer team
- Volunteers engagement strategy and driving working towards achieving National Standards compliance and best practice
- First point of contact and leading the volunteer team members, providing guidance, support, recognition and resources
- Ensuring that volunteers comply with Safety Management System (SMS), Code of Conduct, and other Policies and Procedures at all times

Business Partner
- provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors of teams on HR matters, providing broader generalist support to employees
- Policies & Procedures - refresh or develop as required, review and administer policies and procedures which guide and support the workforce.
- Compliance - keep informed as to external trends and Legislative or other Regulatory changes that may impact the workforce.
- Workforce Development - work with managers to develop long-term workforce development plans, including essential skills mapping, development and training glidepaths, succession planning, cross-skilling and resource sharing opportunities, etc.
- Corporate Culture - develop a unified corporate induction program, regularly monitor corporate culture, develop other programs and activities to support culture change.
- Pipeline Opportunities - developing and coordinating targeted student and other work/volunteer experience opportunities to plant the seeds for the future workforce.
- Preparation of reports, ongoing evaluation and recommendations for continuous improvement; and other reasonable duties as required.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with broad-ranging HR generalist knowledge, in-depth knowledge of legislative and other HR requirements and HR operational experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and exceptional stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record in people management and managing a diverse team effectively, preferably with experience of working with volunteers.
- Highly organised with demonstrated initiative, flexible and adaptive problem-solving skills, and able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Must hold and continue to hold a current motor vehicle Driver’s Licence; and have the ability to successfully complete any Police or other required checks
- Desirable experience running a volunteers program or experience in planning and developing a workforce
