Position Details
- Part time role (3 days p/w) based in Sydney or remotely
- Salary - $70-75K pro rata p.a. - 3 days (22.8 hours) per week with FBT benefits
- Location: Remote or option to be based at ActionAid Australia office in Sydney
- The organisation
The Australian Civil Society Coalition on Women Peace and Security is looking to recruit a part-time Program Coordinator to drive the implementation of the Coalition’s donor funded projects in collaboration with the Coalition Steering Committee and members. This role will lead the drafting of policy briefs, research and reports on behalf of the Coalition and contribute to building the Coalition’s networks and partnership in Australia and regionally.
The successful applicant will be employed by ActionAid Australia, which serves as the auspicing agency for the Coalition and will be managed under the organisation’s HR policies and procedures, which includes flexible working arrangements, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) entitlements and additional leave entitlements.
- The role
You will be responsible for coordinating civil society and government dialogue and shadow reporting on Australia’s National Action Plan on WPS, working under the guidance of the Steering Committee, relevant working groups and stakeholders. The role will also support the strengthening of alliances among women peace builders in Australia and the broader region through virtual convenings. It will promote the participation and priorities of diverse women in relevant national, regional and global spaces relevant to the WPS agenda by coordinating events and drafting policy briefs. The role works closely with and supervises a part-time Communications & Engagement Officer.
The successful applicant will have strong writing, research and coordination skills with the ability to work as a team and autonomously to deliver on project timelines and deliverables. They will have a relevant academic background, a passion for gender equality and proven ability to build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. They will also have experience working with volunteers and diverse communities in Australia or overseas. An understanding of the WPS agenda is highly desirable.
