
Principal Data Governance Officer

**_The Principal Data Governance Officer's Key Responsibilities are:
Lead the creation and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, procedures and specified agreements to ensure consistent data and information practices across the department and with external organisations.
Lead data stakeholder engagement to define and maintain roles and responsibilities related to data governance within the organisation to ensure accountability.
Collaborate with the departments' Data Governance Boards to establish and maintain innovative ways of working that cultivate a data culture that balances risk and business value.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data and information governance practices throughout the organisation.
Oversee initiatives to evaluate the effectiveness of data governance policies and practices, improve data quality and enable the creation of key data definitions.
Establish reporting that provides appropriate focus on areas of improvement based on maturity uplift targets and visibility of data risk for the departments.
Identify, train and partner with data stakeholders as necessary for effective and mature data governance practice.
