Bunbury, Australia Bethanie Group Full time

Bethanie is a leading not for profit aged care provider based in Western Australia. For 70 years, we have been empowering ageing Australians to lead their most meaningful lives by recognising ‘old age’ as a positive force in society and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale.

We’re on a mission to create a better world not just for ageing Australians, but their communities as well, and we believe that to make this difference, you need the right people by your side. We believe that’s what makes us truly different

We are currently seeking a Dietitian to join our Therapy Team and provide expert nutrition and dietary advice for residents at our Aged Care Homes across the South West and Peel regions, including in Bunbury, Dalyellup, Eaton and Mandurah.

If you share our passion for person centred therapy services and promoting a positive ageing experience for older people, we would love to hear from you

Our Therapy Team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Senior Dietitian and a Senior Speech Pathologist. The Therapy Team is further supported by a full time Allied Health Manager.

This role is offered on a permanent part time basis, working 15 hours per week on a roster pattern flexible to suit your lifestyle As this role supports multiple locations, it’s important to note that regular travel between sites in the South West and Peel regions will be required, with the occasional visit to Perth. A travel allowance of $0.80 per kilometre will be provided to you in support of this.

We will consider applicants at all levels of seniority, so those with less experience or new graduates are encouraged to apply, as we can offer clinical support and professional development opportunities tailored to you. This is your chance to gain some exposure to the rewarding sector of aged care

**About You**

- Demonstrates effective communication, strong verbal and written skills, and interpersonal skills
- Current drivers licence and willingness to travel as required
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations

**The Role**
- Works within a person-centred paradigm considering the individual resident’s needs, preferences and choices, partnering with the resident where able

- Advocates for, and supports the ‘food first’ approach to nutrition and hydration
- Reviews, adapts and endorses menus that optimise nutrition and hydration for both regular and texture modified diets, as well as specific population groups as needed
- Communicates effectively with residents, family members, multidisciplinary team members and other employees
- Participates in and drives quality and continuous improvement activities
