St Andrew’s Healthcare is a leading medically led charity with a clear mission: to transform the lives of people living with complex mental health needs. We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with a specialist interest in neuropsychiatry and/or forensic psychiatry to lead our medium secure ABI ward. This unit plays a vital role within our well-established secure care pathway.

Whether you are an experienced Consultant or within six months of achieving your CCT, this role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a specialised service within one of the UK’s most comprehensive and supportive clinical environments.

About the Role

As Responsible Clinician for the medium secure ABI ward (working-age male patients), you will lead the provision of assessment and treatment for individuals with complex mental health conditions in a secure setting.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing clinical leadership and overseeing care plans.
- Ensuring high-quality, evidence-based treatment and service delivery.
- Contributing to strategic development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supporting innovation and influencing the future of secure mental health care.

There will also be opportunities to develop specialist interests and take on wider regional or national leadership roles.

Person Specification

- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- MRCPsych or equivalent.
- CCT in Forensic Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry, or Old Age Psychiatry (or within six months of completion).
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
