**About the Senior Executive Service (SES) Unit**

The Senior Executive Service (SES) Unit guides the strategic people management of the department’s SES cohort to ensure it is well positioned to deliver on APS Reform, departmental objectives and sustain positive culture change through exceptional leadership. The Unit provides this support through strategic guidance and expert advice to Senior Executives to manage all facets of the SES employee-lifecycle. The Unit demonstrates a high level of professionalism, client-service, knowledge and capability to maintain and leverage the trust of the SES cohort.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Assistant Director, SES Unit - this role will be responsible for:

- Coordinate and respond to requests and enquiries from SES and their support staff, including maintaining integrity and confidentiality of information.
- Provide administrative support, undertake transactional functions, and record keeping that supports the Unit and team members.
- Coordinate and manage moderately complex procurement related activities, including raising purchase orders and managing invoice payments.
- Provide high level policy guidance on SES employment conditions, recruitment and workforce management.
- Use data and systems to assess and mitigate HR risks, liaising and escalating as required.
- Contribute to the day-to-day priorities of a team, including the planning and setting of timelines to achieve tasks and outcomes.
- Working with a reasonable degree of independence and anticipating stakeholder needs.
- Managing relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area and department goals.
- Delivering effective customer service and providing quality, accurate and consistent advice to stakeholders.
- Under general supervision and direction, assisting in the on-boarding and off-boarding of employees.

- Project management experience is highly desirable with ability to manage competing priorities.

**The Opportunity**

This position is available to Ongoing Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and/or APS employees as a temporary transfer at level for a period of 12 months.
