As the **National Manager - QGFT Operations**, you will be responsible for providing day to day senior leadership to the established workforce across the national footprint (SYD, MEL, BNE and PER), whilst simultaneously driving strategic thinking to deliver the QGFT future operating model which strives for continuous improvement and optimised service delivery across the Qantas Group.

The position will be accountable for the safe and effective maintenance of all Full Flight Simulators (FFS), Cockpit Procedures Trainers (CPTs) and Emergency Procedures equipment across all onshore Qantas owned Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth training centres. In addition, the position will also have oversight of all partner operations within Australia (CAE, Ansett and Aviation Australia) and offshore (New Zealand and London) and play a critical role in ensuring strategic partners are delivering to contractual requirements and meeting critical SLAs.

As part of this role the **National Manager - QGFT Operations** will partner with the Group Asset Management Services leadership team and the AOCs to support the delivery of a consistent and reliable service level, whilst also creating, assessing and where applicable implementing new training operating or delivery models to ensure the elevated training pipeline can be acquitted as EIS programs scale across the Group.
- Technical experience within an industrial environment, along with experience interpreting Awards and EBA’s.
- Strong people leadership experience, with a demonstrated understanding of what it takes to effectively manage and engage a large team within a complex operating environment with third party suppliers to drive high performance.
- Experience in working towards and communicating defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to deliver strong performance capability and accountability.
- Extensive understanding of WHS&E regulations within an industrial environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical rigour and strong capability to understand and solve for complex issues.
- Well-developed management skills and expertise, including project and change with an ability to take the team on the transformation journey.
- Ability to manage a large, geographically dispersed team working within a complex operation alongside third-party provider.
- Ability to present maintenance performance results and strategy at senior management level, whilst demonstrating consideration of the varying levels of technical knowledge within the audience.
- Ability to identify and support system improvements and opportunities as well as assign priorities where needed to drive customer service and optimised operational performance.
- Effective stakeholder relationship management capability and proven experience with third-party supplier management to drive strong negotiation and conflict resolution.
