As Import/Export Lead with the assistance of one report, you will own the end-to-end function of the global transportation (shipping/freight forwarding) of major sales orders to and from the US, China and Mexico as well as locally (ANZ & APAC), for an expanding and highly successful global electrical componentry manufacturer and as such will require specialist knowledge of, and significant experience with the following:

- Global trade rules and compliance INCOTERMS
- Experience working with and managing a freight forwarding partnership
- Experience of working with an international manufacturer
- Understanding of an order management process
- Understanding of shipping dangerous goods
- Knowledge of transport logistics
- Exposure to ISO standards/certifications and IMS

Great attention to detail and a compliance mindset to ensure all local and international standards are met tracking shipments from start to finish. Excellent and clear communication skills to work collaboratively with international partners, understanding and considering differing cultural and language challenges with be a daily part of your role as you take responsibility for:

- Imports/Exports
- Logistics
- IMS & Compliance
- General Administration e.g., insurance, contractual agreements, general office coordination
- Return Material Authorisations (RMA's)
- Staff supervision and team management

Qualifications in import/export, supply chain or related discipline is preferred, together with demonstrated experience working for a manufacturer in an import/export or international trade role would be ideal. Knowledge of customs laws and regulations, trade compliance procedures, both nationally & internationally, (shipping and freight forwarding) will be key as will a comitment to, and responsibility for a best practice quality standard (ISO) that also supports the business objectives for this growing global manufacturer. Technical competency using multiple platforms including large ERP systems (Oracle/Salesforce) or similar is an advantage together with strong Excel skills at a minimum intermediate to advanced level will be essential for this role.
- It is important to note that while this role is senior and will be part of the leadership team, it is also very hands-on, and operational in nature. This person must be prepared to pitch in wherever needed which will be key as member of a small but highly effective regional team. The role is also broad, and as such this individual will need to be flexible and adaptable and willing across the breadth of this role. Wisdom, depth and commercial sophistication will ensure success in this role. Experience of working with a large and/or global manufacturer, or as part of a global team, will be an advantage. Additionally, experience supervising and developing a small team will be highly regarded._
