**This opportunity**

The External Communications Manager will be responsible for planning and executing consumer and corporate communications across TPG Telecom’s family of brands. The role will deliver a consistent and clear consumer narrative to raise TPG Telecom’s profile and promote its products, services, people and core strategic objectives to customers and the market.

**Responsibilities**
- Work with the Head of External Communications to develop and execute group-wide consumer and corporate media strategies.
- Lead and implement proactive consumer media campaigns promoting TPG Telecom’s family of brands, people, executives, products and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with consumer, technology, industry and mainstream media and manage day-to-day media engagement.
- Writing and distribution of media releases, key messages and Q&A documents.
- Support External Affairs’ issues and crisis response activities.
- Align closely with TPG Telecom’s consumer, brand & marketing teams.
- Manage TPG Telecom’s external corporate communication platforms (e.g. LinkedIn)
- Prepare daily summaries of media coverage for company-wide distribution.
- Support the external communication needs of the TPG Telecom Foundation.
- Work with the broader External Affairs team to address core industry issues including legislative reform, sustainability, infrastructure, regulatory and legal matters.
- Provide specialist counsel to senior leaders and key internal stakeholders.
- Be involved in CEO and executive team thought leadership and engagement activities.
- Collaborate with the Internal Communications team to ensure integration of all communication and stakeholder engagement activities.

**Knowledge and experience**
- Experience in a communications role, strong consumer media relationships and enjoys a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
- Previous tech/telco experience is an advantage.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker and able to keep up with the demands of a 24/7 media cycle.
- Highly motivated and able to operate independently.
- Able to influence stakeholders at a senior level throughout the business.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
