External Communications Specialist – Pacific

Working with senior team members, the external communications specialist – Pacific supports the development and execution of a wide range of communications activities. This role plays a key part in shaping the company's public image and stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear, consistent messaging on behalf of the firm.

What the day will look like

  • Support and implement external communication strategies to Australia and New Zealand markets.
  • Coordinate and manage media relations, including press releases, media inquiries, interviews and spokesperson briefings.
  • Foster strong journalist relationships and maintain up-to-date media and stakeholder contact databases
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage and communication effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage corporate messaging on Aon's LinkedIn handle, and supporting executive profiles ensuring alignment with platform best practices and business priorities.
  • Support executive with their profiles on LinkedIn executive profiles and institutional publications, ensuring alignment with platform best practices and business priorities.
  • Coordinate and manage public relations agencies where applicable.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, influencers, and industry partners. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Proven experience in external communications, preferably within the Australian market.
  • Strong understanding of media landscape in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Proven experience in LinkedIn management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
