Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Melbourne and provides world class clinical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences students. It also provides patient access to high quality health care for members of the Victorian community, within a private practice setting. There are six clinical areas that are central to this service, and they include general medical practice, dentistry, optometry, audiology, speech pathology and psychology.

**About Melbourne Eyecare Clinic**
The Melbourne Eyecare Clinic (MEC) engages the postgraduate students from the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences to provide comprehensive eyecare services under the supervision of leading optometric practitioners in Melbourne. Services provided at our clinic include:
- Diabetic, glaucoma and macular degeneration assessment and screening
- Myopia management and myopia control treatments
- Contact lens care including specialty contact lens services
- Occupational eye care and comprehensive colour vision assessments
- Paediatric and binocular vision services
- General optometric care
Melbourne Eyecare Clinic also carries a wide range of designer and budget frames for men, women and children. All types of contact lenses, including soft, rigid, and orthokeratology designs, are fitted.
**About the Role**
Join our vibrant and patient-centric team at our state-of-the-art eyecare clinic as a Practice Administrative Coordinator in a flexible, part-time (0.4 FTE) role. Working alongside our dedicated team in the MEC, you will play a crucial role in supporting our optometry services. As the key liaison for financial transactions, you will handle tasks such as processing supplier invoices and managing Medicare billings. Additionally, you will take charge of coordinating the patient appointment book, ensuring seamless scheduling. At times, you may be called upon to perform reception duties and provide excellent customer service. In the Dispensing Manager's absence, you will directly report to the Clinic Director, further emphasising the significance of your role within the clinic. **About you**
**Essential Selection Criteria**
- Experience in an administrative role, demonstrating proficiency in office procedures and administrative tasks.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and following through on tasks.
- Demonstrated track record of internal and external customer service provision.
- The ability to use initiative to support improvements to customer service.
- The capacity to work autonomously but also work collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and comply with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Capacity for constructive self-reflection and learning from actions and feedback.
**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience within an eyecare, allied health or medical environment.
- Ability to operate EFTPOS machines and a capacity to deal with banks and medical insurance funds.
