**The role**:
The Minor Works Project Officer will coordinate and supervise planned works on water and wastewater assets, such as: alterations, reticulated mains extensions, installation of sewer maintenance structures and property connection branches to the existing water and wastewater network.

**Who are you?**:
To be successful in this position, you will have the below skills and experience.
- Relevant trade qualification, Technical Training/Diploma or Engineering Degree
- Builds productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop trust, understanding and cooperation
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and design drawings
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems in the construction of water or sewer assets
- Ability to present and discuss technical information when dealing directly with customers, contractors and staff
- Has an understanding of the appropriate OH & S Regulations, Certified Agreement, WSAA Codes, Aust. Standards and Codes of Practice
- Demonstrated in a wide range of works including construction, maintenance, renewals and repair methods
- An understanding of South East Water’s water and sewerage supply system, understanding the interaction of catchments with neighbouring catchments and Melbourne Water’s systems is desirable
- An understanding of the Property Development processes and procedures. For instance: build over guide, Plumbing Applications, etc. is desirable
- Ability to prepare letters and reports on work standards and issues
- Ability to accept change and independently research and implement opportunities for improvement
- Competent in the use of information technology such as works management systems (i.e. Montage) to be able to accurately input of works allocations
- Knowledge of Q.A. procedures and ability to implement improvements to the process and capacity to identify innovative solutions to problems
- Strong influential skills in matters such as the resolution of customer issues using a sound judgement and diplomacy
- Advanced negotiation skills on matters such as contractor’s claims and on site resolution of customer issues
- Excellent time management skills, ensuring meeting agreed deadlines
