**About the Role**:
The Principal Advisor, Restrictive Practice Training (Coordinator) will support the strategic implementation of initiatives to maximise student learning under the Equity and Excellence: realising the potential of every student strategy. To implement the Strengthen Expertise initiative under the Maximising learning for every student strategy, the Principal Advisor will provide central co-ordination to implement a sustainable training model to deliver restrictive practices physical skills training and support.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead and collaborate in the implementation of a sustainable training model to deliver physical skills training for restrictive practices in Queensland state schools including (but not limited to) project management, procurement activities and contract management.
- Co-ordinate, manage and collaborate with Principal Advisors, Restrictive Practices Training and key stakeholders to implement a state-wide sustainable training model to deliver physical skills training for restrictive practices in Queensland state schools including (but not limited to) the organisation of participant registrations, venues, catering and travel.
- Support the development of guidelines, processes and/or training action plan in relation to training delivery of physical skills for restrictive practices
- Develop and manage project plans to clearly outline outcomes, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements and performance measures on time and on budget for initiatives.
- Work with regions to build capability, skills and knowledge in the training delivery of physical skills for restrictive practices.
- Ensure the progression of strategies and initiatives to improve the safety and wellbeing of students and staff with the aim of reducing and eliminating the use of restrictive practices in schools.
- Support delivery of evidence-based strategies and approaches to build more inclusive school learning environments.
- Identify and manage project issues, providing authoritative advice, management and correction of risks relevant to program objectives, and ensuring continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.
- Establish training data collection, analyse data and provide reports for the Director on physical skills training for restrictive practices in schools.
- Establish and maintain effective liaison, communication and collaboration processes with regional services and schools, to lead the strategic implementation of physical skill training for restrictive practices.
- Coordinate with regional senior officers and Disability, Inclusion and Student Services for advice on critical incidents, referring complaints or concerns to Integrity and Employee Relations or Student Protection if required.
There is no capacity, nor is it reasonable for other officers in the team to take on the above additional duties.
Without the position, government commitments will not be able to be delivered, compromising service delivery of high-quality advice to Queensland state schools and regional staff.
