**The Role**

As an APS 5 Technical Data Officer (Draftsman), working in the Technical Data Unit, Directorate of Engineering, Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Group) in the Department of Defence, you will be working with some of the most exciting and complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force.

You will manage engineering technical draftsman activities, within the Technical Drawing Team, where you will spend your days:

- Investigating, analysing and reporting on Engineering Technical/Engineering drawing concepts and risks
- Deliver engineering activities
- Assist the Team Leader and senior Tech Specialists with operational and administrative functions of the Technical Drawing Team
- Assist with the creation, maintenance and validation of compliant technical data and Technical/Engineering drawings
- Provide advice to stakeholders, enabling good technical decisions with quality and timely engineering advice
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are an integral aspect of this role
- You must be able to network/communicate at all levels including engaging with outside organisations to achieve objectives

There may be some domestic business travel associated with this position.

The Directorate of Engineering is an integral part of the new Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Group (GWEO). Our team is made up of various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). We are located in Canberra, Penrith, Amberley, Melbourne and Stirling, and our focus is to acquire and sustain guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.
