About the role:

The successful applicant will be a member of the wider Indigenous Affairs team to deliver Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and retention initiatives, leadership growth activities, community involvement and business engagement.- An important part of your role will also include your ability to forge lasting and valuable relationships with the local Aboriginal communities in which we operate to create positive outcomes.- Who we are looking for:
- Someone who has held a similar position previously in a retail setting or have considerable experience in working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement with the following skills/attributes:- In-depth understanding and knowledge of Indigenous cultures, labour market & programs
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in a fast-paced multi-functional team
- Experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders (internal and externa) towards effective delivery of large-scale projects
- Experience in managing multiple projects at a time and gearing toward process driven way of dealing with tasks
- An interest in social issues or engaging people in learning more about social topics (advocate) would be an advantage- You’ll need:- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a good understanding of their cultures and societies
- Experience in employment programs, including recruitment and retention among Indigenous communities
- Ability to build rapport, motivate and positively influence others
- Strong attention to detail and time management capabilities
- To be able to travel occasionally both within the region and interstate.We’re here to support you.
