**About the role**

The purpose of this position is to support young people’s wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, emotional and social development are supported, to help them actively engage in their education. This role is part of the Student Wellbeing and Engagement Program (SWEEP), a collaboration between schools and 3Bridges Community. This role is placed at a local high school within the Georges River area.

The YDW will have a focus on early intervention and will have to build relationships with students, school staff, parents(s) or Care Giver(s) and the community to help students prepare themselves to make a positive contribution to society and in their adult life.

Key components of this role are to provide support to targeted young people/ students aged 11-18, through 1-2-1 support, targeted program delivery, creation and implementation of wellbeing strategies, events and group work to improve wellbeing and increase engagement of students.

The role requires exceptional planning skills and the ability to effectively facilitate group programs. The position requires cultural sensitivity and upmost confidentiality with a willingness to go outside ones comfort zone to enable a better outcome for the young people attending the school.
- Provide evidence based and targeted individual support
- Deliver targeted early intervention programs
- Develop wellbeing strategies and programs relevant to the school context
- Support engagement with education with a focus on addressing wellbeing needs
- Engage in case work when working with young people experiencing complex challenges
- Taking and maintaining accurate and timely case notes, relevant assessments, and other documentation required in case/support planning and delivery
- Ensuring data required for membership, program delivery and feedback is completed and filled out
- Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Management Standards are incorporated into service delivery

**About You**
- You have a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Equivalent Qualification
- You have minimum 1 years’ experience working with Children and Young People with complex needs specifically 11-18 years of age
- You have experience of delivering targeted programs to young people and with strength in managing social issues/anxiety
- You have experience supporting young people in a 1:1 support capacity with evidence-based strategies and approaches
- You have demonstrated understanding of, and respect for, cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD).
- You have a strong understanding of trauma informed and young person-centered frameworks, as well as child protection legislation
