Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life support for its fleet of C-27J Spartan Airlifter aircraft. The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force’s existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies in Australia and our region.
Due to an internal promotion, the C-27J Continuing Airworthiness Management (CAM) Services team is now seeking a highly motivated and professional and suitably qualified Technical Services Officer to join the team at RAAF Base Richmond or RAAF Base Amberley.
The Technical Service Officer will liaise with elements within Northrop Grumman, RAAF and OEM’s to provide technical solutions to C-27J maintenance staff and operators, working in accordance with engineering management plans and associated work instructions.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Producing technical outputs (Technical Orders, Deviations or Special Technical Instructions) using various sources of engineering, military, regulatory and manufacturer data.
- Performing research needed to ensure a quality and useable product.
- Ensuring output is consistent with company standards and satisfies the relevant Work Instructions and Procedure Manuals.
- Coordinating workflows and tasks required to create technical outputs as required within scheduled deadlines.
- Working directly with SME’s, functional leads, customers and management as needed to gather data and create technical outputs.
- Evaluating engineering drawings and other technical data as required and translating information into an understandable technical output.
- Working closely with the relevant DASR 21J Organisations to ensure technical data created meets DASR requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Aircraft aviation trade / engineering qualification
- Experience in developing and authoring technical outputs
- Proven skills in writing technical instructions for aircraft maintenance.
- Demonstrated competency using MS Office Products, engineering/document management systems and maintenance management tools.
- Working knowledge of DASA/CASA regulations
- Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance
