**Public Sector People** are working with a government organisation within the Brisbane outer suburbs (LOGAN) to recruit Traffic Management Officer for a
**8-month Contract** position with the possibility of extension or direct appointment Permanent position.

The successful applicant will work within a small but supportive team. There will be ongoing training and development within the role. Flexible working is welcomed once trained.

The purpose of this role is to manage road permits and perform other traffic management functions for maintaining safe and efficient operation of the local road network.

The role will be fast paced, with a combination of Decision making, stakeholder engagement, investigations and using a high level of autonomy.

**Responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Issuing approvals in accordance with clients delegation of Authority.
- Review and assess Road Closure Applications and Traffic Guidance Schemes of varying complexity in accordance with the relevant legislation.
- Investigate and report on written and verbal complaints for roadwork related traffic management or other road compliance related activities.
- Undertake planned and adhoc inspections/audits to ensure road closures, traffic management and other traffic related activities are in accordance with local road approvals.
- Plan and coordinate traffic surveys for Annual Traffic Count Program as well as adhoc traffic data requests.
- Attend and/or facilitate meetings with Police, Contractors and Traffic Controllers as required to determine best outcome with respect to any proposed road closures.
- Liaise with customers, external agencies, elected representatives and other internal stakeholders as required when issuing permits.
- Assist Traffic Services Coordinator and Traffic Program Leader with major event traffic management and implementation of road safety programs.

**About you**:

- A formal qualification to assist in the role (eg. Traffic Management/Safety). Traffic Management Design and Traffic Controller qualifications are highly desirable.
- Well developed analytical and computer literacy skills are required
- Demonstrated knowledge of the TRAFFIC ACT
- Ability to pick up systems quickly.
