You’ll join an innovative team, who tirelessly monitor the flow of the traffic with an eagle eye and respond with lightning speed in the event of incidents, both big and small. As our Network Operator, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.**Day-to-day, you will:*** Operate intelligent transport systems (ITS), including CCTV, AID, and road management platforms, to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow across open roads and tunnels* Coordinate with emergency services, field crews, and internal teams to manage incidents such as breakdowns, accidents, and hazards—minimising disruption and ensuring public safety* Incident Management and Traffic Management plans will become second nature to you, you will create these with ease to ensure our roads run more efficiently and safely when things don’t go to plan* Your curious mind will drive you to think bigger, and find new ways to improve our processes, traffic management, and make recommendations* Provide accurate, real-time updates to stakeholders, media, and the public using digital platforms and variable message signs—ensuring transparency and informed travel decisions* Understand the importance of rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices and procedures, including operational systems* Must be able to work across multiple assets as needed to meet business requirements**This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:*** Experience in a monitoring centre, control room, or operational environment—ideally with exposure to traffic control, emergency response, or incident management* Computer smart and analytical, you’re fascinated with new technology and systems - you like to jump in the deep end* Driven, resilient and efficient, showing confidence and professionalism no matter how challenging the situation is* Organised, efficient and decisive in in prioritising the tasks that count, all while juggling multiple tasks* Experienced in writing reports and you know which important details to include so the operation runs smoothly* If shift work’s your thing, you’ve done it before and you like it – our roads are open 24/7**If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.****With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:*** A range of flexible working options* 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, available for the duration of the contract, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well* Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests* Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more* Social activities and groupsWe offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests.
