The Engineering Manager reports directly to Director of Engineering - Wabtec Control Systems (WCS) and has a key responsibility for the day-to-day engineering management and direction of the Wabtec Control Systems’ engineering function, and ensuring the safe, effective and efficient delivery of the required project outcomes by exceeding client expectations on programme, cost and quality, within their States.

**Responsibilities**:
Primary Responsibilities within respective State
- Promote and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management systems are implemented and adhered to across all design activities.
- Manage overall performance of the Signalling Engineering Group (State) in conjunction with Director of Engineering.
- Supporting the collective learning of State Engineering Team members.
- Look for training opportunities, both in-house or external, structured training program or lunch at learn sessions, IRSE technical meetings and online seminars.
- Manage the design and delivery of all projects by ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the required project outcomes.
- Understanding contractual requirements and communicating these to the design teams.
- Providing leadership to, and coordinating the efforts of design teams.
- Provide high level technical support for all signalling projects.
- Performance reviews for State Engineering Team (in conjunction with Director of Engineering).
- Designer liaison including design review meetings, progress & performance reporting, and design change control.
- Manage risk, commercial issues and compliance processes and procedures in relation to Quality, OHSE and other policies.
- Manage Signalling Engineering teams on specific projects.
- Client interface management.
- Report on signalling projects as required.
- Verify & control status of designs produced by consultants and subcontractors.
- Preparation of complete project deliverables for approval.

Secondary Responsibilities
- Establish and manage the documentation and deliverables completion processes.
- Resource management and allocation of resources to achieve project outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Degree qualified in Engineering or Equivalent.
- Significant Australian signalling design experience.
- Team leadership experience.
- Be a Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ or equivalent).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Holds applicable Design Management competencies.
- Working domain knowledge for relevant state.
