Job Description Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Underground Projects Supervisor to join Service Stream in our Port Melbourne office.
About the Role
This opportunity will suit a highly motivated and outcome driven individual who has a passion for delivering positive client outcomes, and a knack for effective stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
This role is responsible for
- Plan and manage assigned projects from initiation through to project closure
- Responsible for project outcomes
- Project scope definition and scope control
- Project scheduling including on-time delivery
- Project communication including reporting, project stakeholder management and management of project information systems
- Management of project procurement activities including subcontract tendering and head/subcontract contract administration
- Management of the design, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, testing and commissioning processes to complete project deliverables
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the company’s project management systems and processes
- Develop strong customer relationships at the project level
- Manage the delivery of customer projects to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Manage all commercial aspects of the project in cooperation with the Works/Operations/Project Manager
- Ensure that the project activities achieve or better target completion dates
- Manage accurate project scheduling to ensure that delivery plans are realistic and achievable
- Review the status of project activities on a regular basis to ensure that activities are completed on time; develop contingency plans and implement corrective actions to deal with performance deviations
- Ensure that project activities meet customer/contract quality standards and conform with Lend Lease Business Management Systems
- Ensure that adequate records are kept to demonstrate the fulfilment of contractual requirements
- Utilise and manage field teams to deliver successful project delivery
- Engage subcontractors as required using Lend Lease subcontractor management systems
About You
- Hold a current construction induction card
- Valid driver’s licence
- Project Management experience in a contracting organisation or project based business or similar with a proven ability to operate in a dynamic “live” environment and to meet project hurdles
- Telecommunications Certificate Level 3 and above would be beneficial or suitable electro-technology qualifications certificate 3 and above, and/or qualified experience in external plant practices
- Over 2 years’ experience in project management of projects within Distribution Underground conduit and cable industry
- Contract management of customer and supply contracts up to $4M in value
- Over 2 years’ experience in a project administration environment
- Contract administration of customer and supply contracts up to $4M in value
- Ability to understand technical aspects of the work undertaken by the team (procurement, design, construction, operation and maintenance)
- Understanding of power distribution networks, processes and procedures
- Knowledge of work structures, conditions, tools and equipment used by team construction staff
- Ability to manage and takes accountability for all project functions.
- Financial Management: ability to maintain budgets & drive cost accountability
- HSEQ- risk assessment, legislative compliance
- Core programming skills
- Computer literate
- Report writing ‘live” environment
