Role Snap Shot

We require a Underground Service Locator within our Engineering Design Survey team to assist us in the delivery of Melbourne based infrastructure projects. Some notable projects include level crossing removal projects and an array of medium to large sized infrastructure projects.

Our Underground Service Detection unit will focus on delivering Radio Detection and GPR surveys, locating underground utilities without excavation or physically exposing the asset.

How You Will Contribute

  • Locating assets including water, drainage, sewerage, gas and telecommunications
  • Utilise radio detection and/or ground penetrating radar equipment to identify depth, orientation and position of underground assets
  • Analysing BYDA documents and authority records to assess preliminary location of assets
  • Reviewing feature survey plans to ensure all data has been collected and annotated correctly
  • Attend construction & design survey sites for the purpose of underground service detection

**Our Ideal Person

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:**

  • BYDA Certified Locator;
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in underground asset location, with the ability to determine location, orientation and depth (Class B, C and D)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian Standard AS for Subsurface Utility Identification
  • Ability to accurately interpret BYDA plans / service authority records
  • Ability to use a radio detection and / or GPR equipment
  • A diligent attitude towards accuracy, efficiency and safety
