**The Role**
The Strategic Inventory Management (SIM) Assurance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring governance and oversight of policies and processes to minimize inventory variations and improve assurance activities across the Defence Fuel Supply Chain (DFSC). Reporting to the Deputy Director SIM, this position collaborates with contractors to maintain adherence to policies, drive continuous improvement, and enhance the accuracy and quality of assurance reporting.
This role is also pivotal in managing Fuel Cards within the Australian Defence Force Network. You will be required to proactively and productively liaise with stakeholders to maintain supply integrity, address issues, and manage contractual relationships.
Key responsibilities include managing performance assessments, supporting project initiatives, overseeing fuel card program functions, and representing SIM in Commonwealth forums. The role supports operational excellence and strategic alignment through effective stakeholder collaboration, ensuring compliance and the delivery of high-quality outcomes.

The team, which is part of the Fuel Capability Branch, provides valuable capability support to Defence by ensuring the ongoing availability of fuels, oils and lubricants to Defence assets both in Country and overseas.
