**The Opportunity**

The Training Coordinator position is within the Education and Communications team. We manage communications; create and maintain publications in print and online; and coordinate and support learning activities.

**The position has a strong emphasis on the following**:

- planning, coordinating and managing learning activities (in-person and online) for people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations
- managing and refining procedures for event management and logístical information
- ensuring appropriate data entry, tracking and record keeping
- preparing reports on training activities and reporting of the program's entirety

**The responsibilities of the position include the following**:

- providing guidance and direction to the Administrative Support Officer
- planning, scheduling and marketing training activities in collaboration with other members of Education and Communications and the broader ORIC team
- receiving and logging requests for training activities from external and internal sources
- gathering and analysing training requests to draft schedules
- identifying and engaging facilitators and venues
- procuring goods and services and managing contracts for event materials, facilitators, venues and catering, including compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
- organising online training events
- managing payments, including credit card and compliance acquittals
- assisting facilitators with logistics and travel
- supporting participants to register for, attend and give feedback on training activities, including booking travel
- analysing participation and engagement at events and feedback from events to produce comparative reports for team members and the executive
- developing and continuously improving procedures and systems for training activities including resources such as materials checklists and survey forms
- attending some training events for logístical support, for example, managing the lobby, assisting participants to access workshop materials, recording attendance and administering evaluations.
- ensuring appropriate and potential troubleshooting and handling emerging problems before or during the event

We're looking for someone who takes pride in exceptional customer service for our training participants, partners and suppliers.

The pace is fast, so you need to be efficient and organised. We're looking for someone who can manage requests for training activities; schedule and coordinate events; procure suppliers; register participants; organise travel; maintain participation records; and compile statistical reporting.

You'll also be responsible for developing operational standards and processes for all aspects of training event coordination.

We need someone who is a good communicator and record keeper, so good written and oral communication skills are a must, as is cultural sensitivity.

Make sure you tell us about your skills in data entry, data management and reporting, as they're a key part of this role.

You should know your way around the MS Office suite - Excel, Teams and SharePoint in particular - and be willing to learn new systems and processes.
