- Benetas is looking for a dynamic individual to join Benetas in the position of Communications Manager. The role works closely with the CEO and Benetas Executive team to provide communications advice in a fast paced and dynamic environment, where making a difference to ageing Australians is a key driver for the organisation.
- This position will be based at our Support Office in Hawthorn East, just 9 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Our support office is a thriving, supportive and friendly environment, where you will have the opportunity to work with other passionate people.

**About the role**
- This role will design and implement Benetas’ corporate communications strategy, and be responsible for media, PR, and crisis communications to ensure our strong reputation in the aged care sector is maintained and strengthened.
- The Communications Manager, together with two direct reports, is responsible for:

- designing and delivering an organisational communication strategy encompassing internal and external audiences.
- proactively identifying and developing new media opportunities to promote Benetas as well as managing inbound media enquiries.
- providing strategic public relations advice and support to internal and external stakeholders in relation to issues and crisis management.
- developing and delivering an engaging and empowering internal communications plan that provides clarity to the organisation about strategic initiatives and excites them about the future.
- overseeing the implementation of the social dividend program, and feature stories of activities.
- building strong relationships with key leaders at Benetas including the CEO, Executive leaders of business units to advise them on the most effective way to communicate about their key priorities and provide copywriting and content development for assets as required.
- This role sits on the Leadership team of the Customer, Insights and Marketing team, and reports into the GM, Customer, Insights & Marketing. The position is located at our Support Office in Hawthorn East, just 10 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD.

**About you**
- A background in communications, public relations or other relevant discipline, with at least 5 years of industry experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong media management and PR skills across mainstream and social media channels
- Experience working with sensitive and complex issues
- Highly effective interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Calmness under pressure and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, issues-rich environment
- Ability to flex between providing strategic communications counsel and tactical implementation
- An exemplary work ethic and great initiative
- A demonstrable record of supporting the achievement and development of your team
- An understanding of the aged care sector and the challenges and opportunities there are in relation to caring for older Australians.
