About the Role
In addition to the general role description the primary responsibility of this role is to prevent and manage workplace injuries.
Annually
*
- Conduct the Annual Safety Assessment (ASA)
- Develop in collaboration with BM a budget to respond to the assessment
- Conduct CARA training for staff
- Update school procedures associated with HSW
- Conduct staff inductions at start of year
- Review First Aid and collaborate with First Aid Officer to monitor and review: *
- Medical Action Plans
- Emergency Health Plans
Termly
*
- Present key reports to HSW meeting including the collection and analysis of relevant data
- Incidents details
- Emerging patterns
- Attend Regional HSW meeting
- Update policy and procedure
- Monitor HSW data systems including:
- My HR
- Coordinate and monitor tasks associated with ASA
- Conduct targeted reviews of compliance associated with:
- Chemwatch
- Curriculum Activity Risk Assessments
- Organise Evacuation / Lockdown Drills and collect and collate feedback
- Review Emergency Evacuation Plan
- Review and update Emergency Response Plan
- Undertake site assessments to monitor and refine the ASA as required
Weekly

- Review WHS incidents and plan investigations through to finalisation
- Monitor and support RTW officers progress with Workplace injury management cases
- Liaise with schools regarding support for non-workplace injury management cases.
Ad Hoc
*
- Undertake investigations into incidents
- Conduct staff inductions as required
