**The Role**

McIlwain are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to implement OHS procedures and plans at a project level, whilst assisting the Project Leadership Team in developing Health and Safety strategies and training for the desired workplace.

**Duties**:

- Implement the requirements of the Safety Management Plan.
- Monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management team.
- Develop relationships with key supervisors to ensure the H&S function is seen as a supporting partnership in the delivery of the project.
- Provide coaching and guidance of health and safety procedures to project Supervisors.
- Identify areas of improvement to deliver a consistent approach to health and safety across the project.
- Research and assist with the development of safety policies specific to the project.
- Assist with conducting incident and accident investigations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
- Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of project safety programs.

**Skills and Experience**:

- 5+ years' experience in a similar role within Civil Construction.
- Diploma in WHS/OHS as a minimum.
- A thorough and working knowledge of WHS practices, standards and codes.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and other software packages.
- ICAM trained.
