**The Opportunity**

Due to a period of parental leave, an exciting new leadership opportunity has become available at Gallagher Bassett.

In the Corporate Controller role, you will ensure robust financial control is applied across the Gallagher Bassett & Gallagher Benefits group of companies in Australia, through provision of strong accounting and compliance oversight, as the lead of the Financial Control team.

**Additionally, you will**:

- Provide leadership to a team of Financial Control personnel;
- Lead the monthly financial close process, including review of revenue recognition, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting;
- Lead the annual audit and Financial Statements process;
- Undertake technical accounting reviews, acquisition accounting and integration activities as required;
- Oversee other Statutory and Regulatory reporting requirements, including FBT, GST, PAYG and Payroll Tax lodgements;
- Undertake group-wide accounting projects;
- Oversee SOX compliance and Annual Control Review processes;
- Review and approve banking, AP and Capex additions.

**We are seeking a driven, collaborative and dedicated individual who will have**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, with CA/CPA accreditation;
- Extensive experience in senior financial accounting roles within a large corporate environment.
- Highly-developed technical proficiency in systems, software, databases, reporting and communication tools;
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables, data analysis and reporting using large data sets and full GL extracts;
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence across a range of personnel;
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines;
- The ability to interpret and analyse complex data with strong attention to detail.
