Corporate Accountant

About the Role
We are now seeking an experienced
Corporate Accountant
to join our Group Finance team. Reporting to the Group Accounting Lead, you will assist the Corporate Accounting team in ensuring the successful preparation, review and delivery of the Coronado Group consolidated results in compliance with Executive Management and Board reporting timeframes.

Your role will be rewarding and varied, where you will:

• Prepare monthly management accounts for Australian and Group corporate entities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with USGAAP and AIFRS.
• Manage SG&A and other corporate accounts, including foreign currency, employee benefits, deferred tax, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist with capital work in progress reviews and ensure appropriate recognition of capital transactions.
• Prepare monthly SG&A and ad hoc cost management reports, and support presentations to management and business owners.
• Prepare and manage balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls documentation.
• Support the preparation of audit materials and liaise effectively with external auditors during quarterly, half-year, and year-end audits.
• Assist Treasury and taxation obligations, including budget preparation and ERP/system implementations.
• Collaborate with finance teams across Australia and the US to provide accounting and reporting support.

About You

You will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Accounting; CA/CPA accreditation preferred or in progress.
• Experience in a similar corporate or professional services accounting role, including month-end processes, accounting competency, and audit liaison.
• A solid understanding of internal controls and corporate governance principles.
• Experience within the mining industry, preferably coal, is desirable.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
