Due to an internal move, we are now recruiting for a Payroll Manager to support the ANZ business. This role is responsible for managing an effective, efficient, compliant, and accurate payroll function across ANZ. Leading a small central team but engaging broadly across ANZ, this role maintains relationships and communication plans for all functions and seniority levels including corporate HQ’s in Melbourne and Toronto.
This role can be based at either our Melbourne or Ballarat office.
**About the role**
- Lead a work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, and inclusive by role modelling our core cultural competencies
- Interpret Industrial Agreements such as Awards, Collective Agreements, Letters of Appointment and ensure compliance
- Provide strategic input to Industrial Agreement negotiations
- Set the functional strategy for payroll in ANZ
- Oversee the ex-pat benefits and tax compliance program, providing local insight to the global mobility and rewards group
- Support HR business partners in understanding the legislative frameworks and in formulating union communication plans
- Manage and continually improve quality and efficiency of work in payroll
- Ensure payments to wages and salary employees are made accurately and on time
- Provide issue resolution and support on industrial disputes relating to payroll
- Produce and maintain employee data to undertake high level analysis and reporting
- Oversee the payroll auditing requirements and ensure that they meet internal and external procedural/legislative requirements
- Manage payroll and time & attendance software requirements
**About you**
- Strong people leadership, collaborative style that fosters inclusion and participation
- Analytical skills with attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or HR and/or 5+ years Payroll Manager experience within a large organisation
- Demonstrated advance knowledge of employment legislation
- Advanced experience in payroll systems
- Advanced time and attendance experience
- Intermediate ERP skills (SAP)
- Experience running multiple pay runs in both Australia and New Zealand
- Experience with interpretation of multiple awards and agreements in both Australia and New Zealand
- Confidentiality, professionalism, empathy, and diligence
- Change management and project management experience
- Experience with systems integrations, payroll transitions
