**Position Information**:
Lisarow Public School has a student enrolment of 197 students which is made up of 8% students from an Aboriginal background. Lisarow Public School is a beautiful, historical, community focused school with long standing partnerships and is part of the Valley Schools Learning Community on the NSW Central Coast.
The school has a strong and genuine partnership with the community and the P&C which is actively involved in ensuring the school is well positioned in supporting quality outcomes for students. The Parent community have a focus on supporting ongoing learning programs at the school which includes age appropriate pedagogy and strengthened student wellbeing programs. Parents are active participants in learning and daily school life and are deeply proud of the genuine collaborative partnerships that have been developed with Lisarow Public School.
The school offers high quality Explicit Teaching and learning programs in all key learning areas with a focus on High Potential and Gifted Education as well as support for students with Inclusive Education needs. The staff have developed resilience and critical thinking skills in students to become innovative problem solvers in a future ready society and will work on ensuring students develop a stronger understanding of restorative practices in their interpersonal relationships. Staff strive to engage in ongoing professional learning with a current focus on Explicit Teaching. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) forms the basis of the approach to student wellbeing at Lisarow Public School. PBL strategies are based on the core values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best and are embedded into all aspects of school life. The school has a strength in catering for the individualised learning needs for all students through an innovative and committed Learning and Support Team. The staff, students, and community deeply value collaboration as well as wellbeing for all, and highly visible leadership in all aspects of school life.
Positive links are being strengthened with the Valley Schools Learning Community which is a collaboration of local Public Schools including High Schools. One of the recent flagship programs has included the Bro and Sista Speak initiative which has been embedded across all schools in the Learning Community in partnership with the Cooinda AECG. The school continues to be a valuable member of the Cooinda AECG and supports all of its initiatives. A recently installed Yarning Circle is used by local Aboriginal community members and students to share cultural knowledge and stories together. In 2024 Lisarow Public School made it to the state finals for the NSW Game Changer initiative for our HPGE students and will extend on this momentum for the future. Extracurricular opportunities in sport and creative arts bring a richness to the learning opportunities and relationship building for students and staff.

- An open, approachable, and visible leader with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to genuinely build productive partnerships with all families and stakeholders to enhance student outcomes and drive whole school improvement.
- Demonstrated Educational Leadership expertise and commitment to maintaining and enhancing existing quality programs, with the skills to inspire and develop staff in the provision of high-quality teaching and learning across the broader key learning areas that show proven student outcome improvement.
- Demonstrated skills to lead and develop staff capacity to ensure maximum learning outcomes and high expectations for all Aboriginal students and ability to develop genuine partnership with the Aboriginal Community including the AECG.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
