What is the role?
Cybercrime has been designated one of the Australia’s priority crime threats. AFP’s Cyber Command plays a key role in national efforts against cybercrime with a focus on:
High end Commonwealth cybercrime investigations;
National coordination of the law enforcement response to cyber threats;
Offshore disruption; and
Prevention and support.
Cyber Command has primary responsibility for the investigation of cybercrimes against the Commonwealth Government, critical infrastructure and systems of national significance or those that impact on the whole of Australian economy.
Within Cyber Command, the Capability Uplift Team provides oversight and management of the delivery of capability development initiatives. In particular, we are enhancing enterprise capabilities and the Command’s capacity to counter cybercrime through our Countering Cybercrime New Policy Initiative program, following the Government’s investment through Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy 2020.
Our work on the program involves designing, managing and evaluating projects with a remit to enhance AFP’s cyber capabilities. These include training projects, recruitment initiatives, and organisational change activities.
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Program Manager - Cyber Capability Uplift.
What will you do?
Your primary responsibility as a Program Manager will be to plan, organise, and manage multiple uplift projects. This includes:
Maintaining a program plan that outlines the goals, objectives, and timeline for the Countering Cybercrime program
Ensuring that the projects are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the program
Coordinating the work of teams involved in the projects
Monitoring and reporting on the progress of the projects
Managing the budget and finances of the program, including monitoring expenses and ensuring that the program stays within budget
Essential Requirements
Must be an Australian Citizenship
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Relevant qualifications or extensive experience and knowledge in project/program management
A strong understanding of financial processes within AFP or a similar government agency
Experience working in or with a uniformed organisation
Experience using StrategyDotZero to manage a program or projects
Additional Information
This position has been advertised in multiple locations however, the role is located in Canberra. Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to Canberra.
