**Work type**: Full Time
**Location**: Sydney - West
At Visy, we love solving problems. And that’s something we do better working together. We are looking for people who see what’s ahead and run towards it.
Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, recycling and remanufacturing. We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand’s food and beverage packaging industry. We manufacture anything from cardboard boxes, water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans, all using recycled content.
**The opportunity**:
As the Maintenance Manager at Visy’s Smithfield manufacturing facility, you will lead and oversee the maintenance department, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency in our corrugated board manufacturing plant. This role offers the chance to shape a high-performing team, drive continuous improvements, and contribute to a sustainable future within one of the world's leading packaging and recycling companies. Join us to leverage your engineering expertise and leadership skills to make a significant impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the NSW Reliability Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Oversee effective planning of maintenance schedules, preventative maintenance compliance, major repairs, and process improvements to ensure maximum plant reliability and productivity.
- Manage the maintenance budget, control waste, optimise spare parts inventory, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Address skill gaps, enhance technical competence within the team, and ensure Asset Care KPIs are communicated to the maintenance team to clarify expectations and any non-conformance addressed in a timely manner.
- Liaise with other functions to identify key issues affecting line performance and develop solutions and execute actions to rectify the issues.
**What you will bring to the team**:
- Proven track record of hands-on leadership and management in a Maintenance environment, preferably within Corrugated, FMCG or Manufacturing sectors.
- Tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline or Trade Qualifications with relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and drive productivity improvements.
**Benefits**:
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
- Attractive salary package with performance-related incentives.
- Be part of a forward-thinking company committed to continuous improvement and sustainability.
When you join Visy, you’re joining a global leader dedicated to making serious progress in the sustainable packaging, recycling, re-manufacturing and logistics industries. We love solving the problems that make an impact and grow our business. If you think you can help us, you’ll fit right in.
