Program Coordinator – Capacity & Advocacy
2 Positions
- Part-Time; 3 days per week; Flexible hybrid role (Sydney South and West regions)
- Part - Time; 2 days per week; Flexible hybrid role (North, Central Coast and Newcastle)
About Us
Autism Community Network (ACN) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting more than 4,000 autistic individuals, families, and carers across NSW. Established in 2011, we deliver peer support groups, social clubs, and community events to build connection, inclusion, and wellbeing.
The Role
We're seeking 2 x passionate Program Coordinators – Capacity & Advocacy to coordinate and grow ACN's peer support and family programs. You will help ensure activities are inclusive, empowering, and aligned with our Peer Support and Capacity Building (PSCB) framework.
Working closely with the Volunteer & Wellbeing Coordinator, you will support autistic individuals and families, strengthen community connections, and help expand programs in under-served areas. This role requires a great deal of flexibility as the successful applicant will play a prominent role in establishing our core groups. The groups, which often focus on social events are sometimes held in the evening, so the ability to work flexible hours and in different locations is vital.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee peer groups, family days, and community events (mainly Sydney).
- Deliver autism-specific guidance, advocacy, and referrals — especially for CALD and high-support needs families.
- Promote ACN programs within local communities to increase participation.
- Build relationships with councils, clubs, schools, and service providers.
- Maintain accurate data in HubSpot (CRM) and assist with grant reporting and admin tasks.
About You
- Experience in community development, disability services, or program coordination.
- Skilled in advocacy, communication, and community engagement.
- Organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently.
- Lived or professional experience with autism or caring roles valued.
- Current Working With Children Check, Police Check, and driver's licence.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a supportive, values-driven team.
- Flexible role with purpose — making real impact in the autism community.
- This is more than a job — it's a chance to walk alongside families, amplify voices, and help create lasting change.
