Quality Assurance Manager

Il Granino Bakery is a WA-owned artisan bakery, producing a wide range of specialty bread products, croissants, muffins, and Danish Pastries for the catering and food service arena.

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, experienced individual to join our team in the role of QA Manager, to lead, drive and manage all aspects of quality control, quality assurance, and food safety compliance.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Maintain and improve the existing Quality Management System and HACCP plans to meet all statutory and regulatory requirements and customer standards
- Maintain HACCP certification and gain certification to global and customer standards as identified by the business.
- Conduct internal GMP and system audits and identify and drive corrective & preventative actions to deliver improvement across the site.
- Manage allergen control and segregation throughout the bakery and storage areas.
- Deliver induction and ongoing training in GMP, Food Safety & HACCP, and Allergens to all bakery and support personnel and maintain training records.
- Host and lead external audits and address any non-conformances identified.
- Manage and initiate the microbiological swabbing and finished product testing program.
- Maintain Knowledge and understanding of the FSANZ Food Standards Code and other relevant regulations and legislation or customer standards, and ensure internal systems reflect any changes.
- Manage the Approved Supplier Program including the collation of PIF’s & specifications for all ingredients purchased.
- Develop and update product specifications, ingredient lists, and nutritional panels.
- Assist the General Manager with staffing notifications and general operations where required.
- Manage the packaging machine printer label database.

Skills and experience required:

- More than 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the food industry.
- Degree or diploma (or similar) in Food Science / Technology or related field
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of current food legislation and global food safety programs (BRC, SQF, HACCP, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited direction and or resources.
- Confident presentation skills to enable the delivery of training at all levels.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Fixed shift

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
