**Casual Disability Support Worker - Aided Hearts**

**Location**: Melbourne CBD, next to Queen Victoria Market
**Pay Rate**: $34-$40 per hour + Superannuation + Penalty Rates for weekends & public holidays

**Job Title**:
Companion & Everyday Life Facilitator (NDIS Participant - Melbourne)

**Job Type**:
Casual - 8 hours per weekend for option to pick up shifts during the weekdays as well.

**About the Role**:
We’re looking for a confident, articulate, and easy-going person to spend quality time each week with a friendly Female participant in her early 60's with type 2 diabetes, and a stoma bag, client doesn't need stoma bag help just needs reminding when to take medications. This role is less about “support work” and more about being a capable companion who can help navigate day-to-day formalities like paperwork, phone calls, and staying on top of everyday tasks, and driving the client to appointments and outdoor errands around Melbourne.

This is ideal for someone who enjoys casual conversations, encouraging others

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Spend time with the client **(total of 8 hours weekends and more shifts during the week when available)**:

- Assist with day-to-day formalities, such as filling in forms and making phone calls
- **drive client to appointments, pharmacy in the community etc.**:

- Offer calm, consistent verbal encouragement and motivation
- Be a steady, respectful presence — someone who helps keep things on track without pressure
- Maintain clear and friendly communication with the client and/or support coordinator as needed

**About You**:

- You speak English very clearly and confidently
- You are easy to talk to and naturally supportive, without being overbearing
- You are reliable, punctual, and take initiative when needed
- You’re respectful of personal space and independence
- understanding of mental health and support work without needing to label it

**Desirable (but not essential)**:

- Previous experience in community or social settings
- Familiarity with NDIS is a plus
- Comfortable navigating online forms, simple documents, and making phone calls
