**About - Research, Innovation and Commercialisation**

Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) is the central facilitator of research funding in the University, taking advantage of the full diversity of research funding opportunities.

The Office of Research Ethics and Integrity (OREI) provides expert advice, guidance and training to facilitate the ethical and responsible conduct of research. We partner with Chancellery and Academic Divisions to support multiple key areas of governance and oversight including: research integrity, human and animal research ethics, gene technology, biosecurity and biosafety, animal welfare, export controls, autonomous sanctions, quality assurance and clinical trials.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Associate Director, Research Integrity Investigations, the Research Integrity Investigations Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of allegations received by the OREI in relation to potential breaches of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, 2018 in accordance with the Guide to Managing and Investigating Potential Breaches of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, 2018.

The Research Integrity Investigations Manager provides expert advice to senior executives and is responsible for policy and process development, as well as secretariat support and technical advice to investigation panels.

This is an exciting opportunity to join OREI as a senior leader, working with a high-degree of autonomy and playing a vital role in ensuring compliance and ethical conduct within a dynamic and complex environment. You will develop and lead a specialist team of Research Integrity Investigations Officers to provide high quality, customer-focused services in the management of allegations and education and training.

Responsibilities include:

- Lead and manage the Research Integrity Investigations team, including developing, coaching and mentoring staff, managing performance and promoting a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership, oversight and direction for the management of allegations of breaches of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, 2018 ensuring excellent customer service is provided and that matters are managed in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Direct and deliver strategic projects, including the development and review of policies, guidelines, procedures and processes.
- Provide strategic advice and make clear recommendations to senior management on complex issues related to research integrity, compliance, risks and opportunities.

**About You**

You possess exceptional leadership skills and experience with the ability to effectively engage and build relationships with senior leaders, negotiating and influencing to achieve positive outcomes. Your highly-developed written and verbal communication skills enable you to convey complex information to diverse audiences. You are able to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment while ensuring best practice service delivery.

Possession of a specialist investigations qualification is highly desirable but not essential.

You will also have:

- The appointee will have a recognised and relevant qualification and relevant extensive experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training in a complex environment.
- Extensive experience leading and developing a team, with demonstrated ability to communicate key strategic objectives and support staff to achieve organisational goals in a large and complex environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the case management of investigations and assessments in a complex environment..
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
