With our prosperous participant base and growing team, we are on the search for committed, professional, and compassionate individuals to join our team in the **Newcastle / Hunter Region**, with the opportunity to have a career in managerial roles and full-time positions.

We are currently looking to hire a **Disability Support Worker** who has experience in providing Social and Daily Living support.

Locations**:Newcastle / Hunter**

Shift hours**:2 hours to 6 hours blocks**

**Here is a bit more about your role as a SHCS Support worker**:

- You will be a valued team member helping to provide services to support clients’ individual needs in both their home and community.
- Paid hours (casual) + Kilometres - Attractive hourly rates

- We work around your availability, with shifts available at all times and days
- You MUST have a current driver's license and own car to use on shifts
- You MUST be fully vaccinated for Covid-19

**Additional Duties for this role include but are not limited to**:

- Personal Care.
- Working with participants with complex behaviours which may involve physical/verbal aggression.
- General Domestic Duties.
- Transportation.
- Social and Community Participation.

**Your Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their family, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth service delivery flow throughout the participants' plan.
- Assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals, ambitions, promote and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide a medium of solid communication.
- Increase participants skills with your active support and promote independence by enhancing their skills and personal development.
- Provide quality and professional support in line with participants plans, needs, and wants.
- Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle.
- Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, identify areas of increased support and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.

As a support worker in our team, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with daily living skills, assisting with social and recreational activities, implementing and monitoring practices that will promote a healthier lifestyle, and empowering participants to help them achieve their goals. The role will involve working with participants with both low and complex needs. Some may need assistance with medication prompts, and others may show complex behaviours. Experience and professionalism are highly recommended.

Pay: $34.00 - $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 25 per week
