About the role

Positive Care Support's is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Maitland NSW 2320. In this part-time role, you will play a crucial part in supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independent and fulfilling lives.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised support and assistance with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and transportation
  • Participating in the development and implementation of individualised support plans to ensure the unique needs of each client are met
  • Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote community engagement and improve quality of life
  • Advocating for the rights and well-being of clients, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with organisational and legislative requirements
  • Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to client support

What we're looking for

  • A relevant qualification in Community Services, Disability Support, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a disability support or aged care role, with a demonstrated understanding of person-centred care principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
  • A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A current driver's licence and reliable means of transportation
