**About the role**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Civic Compliance Officer (Local Laws) to be a part of our proactive Civic Compliance team.
- Other responsibilities include:_
- To take responsibility for compliance with the provisions of the Local Government Act, Council's Local Law, Domestic Animals Act and other relevant Acts and Regulations.
- To patrol, and if necessary, enforce on and off leash areas in public places and parks.
- Attend to out-of-hours complaints from the public.
- To issue permits and supervise the placement and conditions of those permits by authorised permit holders within the municipality.
- To assist in the investigation and reporting of complaints received.
**About you**
You will have the ability to gain cooperation and assistance from stakeholders, clients, Council staff, and the public, handling enquiries and conveying information and instructions. You will play a crucial role in educating the community and encouraging adherence to regulations.
The following is also required:
- Certificate IV in Animal Regulation and Management or willing to obtain.
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or willing to obtain.
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Road Safety Act, Road Rules Victoria, Litter Act, Domestic Animals Act and other relevant Legislation.
- Current Victorian Driver's license.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rotating roster.
