The Policy Analysis and Engagement Unit sits within the Transport Policy Branch which shapes the long-term vision for the transport system and sets new directions and priorities for the department. The unit contributes to shaping the future of transport in Queensland through scenario planning, horizon scanning, policy analysis and program management.
As Principal Advisor in Policy Analysis and Engagement Unit, some of your responsibilities will include: - Supporting the development and oversight of the branch's policy program including the process for project prioritisation, monitoring, and reporting on the delivery of the program. This includes preparing insightful reports and dashboards and contributing to continuous improvement to support the branch leadership team. Researching and analysing emerging transport trends and policy issues including evolving customer expectations and needs. This includes data monitoring, analysis and interpretation, as well as formulating and presenting relevant findings and recommendations to inform strategic transport policy. Supporting the unit's horizon scanning, foresight and scenario planning activities. Identifying and implementing digital solutions to automate reporting and data visualisation (such as developing interactive dashboards) to provide insights and support strategic transport policy development and implementation. Building and strengthening internal and external stakeholder relationships across the department, government, and transport sector to support policy and program delivery. This includes proactively collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve desired outcomes. Providing project management support and coordination including managing competing priorities under tight timeframes.

Experience in applied analytical skills and critical problem-solving within the context of policy analysis, development, and implementation. Experience in program development, monitoring and reporting, or project management. Proven track record in building and sustaining stakeholder relationships to enable better customer-focused outcomes.
