The Business, Growth and Development directorate is responsible for coordinating and implementing the business growth strategy for ECU. With input from Schools and Service Centres, this directorate provides the University with insight-driven understanding of the needs, behaviours and values that influence the decisions of future students. These insights are used to effectively maximise all student recruitment opportunities, proactively creating commercially viable opportunities and target market segments.
The Future Student Engagements team, embedded within this directorate, is driven by the genuine desire to help future students transform their lives through education. The team employs a variety of sales and marketing strategies aimed at targeting prospective student cohorts, and their key influencers, and to position ECU as a leading public university in WA. The team is instrumental in promoting ECU’s courses, providing advice on admission requirements and information about entry pathways. The team also plays a pivotal role in managing the University's relationships with high school career counsellors, Heads of Learning disciplines, VET coordinators, industry partners, TAFE/RTOs and other education associations and providers.
As Team Leader of the Student Ambassador Program, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a new and exciting Student Ambassador Program, leading a team of up to 20 energised workers, which aims to enhance and grow capacity of targeted engagement activities, with future students. This is a great opportunity to for you to set the team up for success and work with them as they grow, whilst providing outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, training, coaching, and deploying current ECU students to work as passionate and inspiring Ambassadors and positive role models, sharing their journey into and life as an ECU student. In collaboration with the ECU Internal Schools staff and ECU Ambassadors, you will design and develop inspiring, hands-on engagement workshops and presentations to promote ECU to future students.
**What you’ll do**:
Be responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, coaching and deployment of ECU undergraduate and postgraduate Student Ambassadors to deploy discipline-based workshop, presentations, and activities to prospective ECU students.
In collaboration with ECU Internal Schools staff, and in alignment with the outcomes of the Student Ambassador Program, develop inspiring engagement activities and hands-on workshops to promote ECU to future students.
Coordinate the day-to-day operational aspects of the Future Student Engagement program, where Ambassadors will be deployed, in collaboration with the Future Student Engagement Coordinators, including on-campus events, school visits, and Open Days.
Oversee administration requirements for the Student Ambassador Program, including HR and payroll contracts and timesheets, working with children checks and the monitoring of the Ambassador Program budget and associated expenditure.
Be responsible for the capture of relevant and appropriate information on prospective students, who attend future student engagement events, and input into the customer relationship management system, in readiness for lead nurture and conversion.
Monitor, evaluate and report on the impact and effectiveness of the ECU Student Ambassador Program through qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies.
Such other duties as may be required from time to time, commensurate with the duties of the position and to ensure effective operation of the Future Students Engagements business unit
**Key Criteria**:
Previous experience in a people leadership role (4 years’ experience desirable)
Demonstrated experience of the workshop session design and delivery, preferably with a youth audience.
Demonstrated skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including relationship management skills
Demonstrated experience in the recruitment, selection and training of staff and provision of ongoing coaching, supervision, and ability to provide constructive feedback
High-level communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
A strong customer service ethos
**Specific requirements**:
Valid Drivers’ license
Ability and willingness to work outside of standard business hours and undertake travel as required
Ability to undertake tasks which require some manual handling of materials and light equipment (e.g. packing/unpacking materials and banners)
Valid Working with Children Check
Undergraduate qualifications or progress towards undergraduate qualifications and a strong understanding of the West Australian education sector and curriculum will be highly regarded.
