About the Role- Torrens Island based position offering hybrid work arrangements- Contribute to the Gas Assets Business Support Services team- Opportunity for an early career/graduate in Business Management
The Business Support Officer is responsible for supporting the team to ensure relevant processes and policies for the Gas Assets portfolio are implemented and adhered to.
You will play a pivotal role in providing close support for the delivery of activities that include contracts management, training and competency, and items associated with risk and assurance ensuring the Business Support team is assisting the Operational Leadership Teams to fulfil relevant business activities and initiatives.
You will work in close collaboration with Engineering, Projects, Operations and Maintenance in supporting relevant business objectives, working under general supervision and guidance from the wider team. This role is aligned to the Gas Assets portfolio with assets located around Australia.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide support including research, preparation, coordination, correspondence and reports on the progress of projects and other activities/tasks.- Develop and maintain effective networks, partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.- Analyse, interpret and implement policy, legislation, portfolio and program initiatives.- Identify asset and operational issues and improvements relating to the Gas Assets.- Monitor day to day performance, condition, and expenditure on designated activities.- Conduct investigations on predetermined activities for internal and external stakeholders, involving analysis and review.- Manage routine and/or less complex activities which may involve internal or external resources.- Prepare standard factual and/or technical reports for the Business Support Services team or as directed by the Gas Assets Leadership Team.- Document contract records, technical records, correspondence, purchase orders and purchase payment records for specific activities.- Support Strategic Sourcing activities with key business stakeholders.- Provide assistance with the analysis of contract performance to identify and implement improvement opportunities.- Assist with auditing contract compliance to ensure maintenance and service contracts are managed in accordance with AGL Guidelines- Assist with preparation and issuing of documentation required for Business Support Services activities
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Qualification in Business Management, Commerce or similar degree- Ability to build and nurture relationships with both internal and external stakeholders-
- Proven skill in communicating clear and accurate information to individuals and groups- Write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication styles to convey messages that will achieve a desired effect.- Build rapport to establish constructive, effective, and positive working relationships with people at all organisational levels.- Use initiative to respond to challenges in a pressured and changing environment.- Knowledge and skill with information systems to enable job planning, report writing, spreadsheet and database use, communication, and administration needs.- Knowledge in producing reports of commercial data, including comprehensive tracking registers.- Sound analytical skills for understanding business and for resolving more straightforward problems associated with business activities- Well-developed skills in commercial acumen, negotiation, influencing and problem solving.
