**About the Role**:
The Division of Surgery is responsible for delivering inpatient and outpatients surgical services and prevention and treatment dental health programs for children, targeted youth and adults of the ACT and surrounding region. The Division includes Surgical Bookings and Pre-Admission Clinic, Anaesthesia, Pain Management Unit, Operating Theatres, Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit and Admissions / Extended Day Surgery Unit, specialist surgical ward areas, medical and nursing Outpatient services, Shock Trauma Service, Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Unit and the ACT Dental Health Program.

The Peri-Operative Unit at Canberra Hospital consists of a Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) Unit, Operating Theatres covering a wide range of surgical specialities, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) and Extended Day Surgery Unit (EDSU) together with several out of areas procedural/invasive specialty areas.

The resource technician report directly to the Registered Nurse and Resource Manager Perioperative Unit and joins the resource team. This position is responsible at an operational level for the coordination and management of supplies required within Perioperative Services.

Note: This position involves participating in a rotating roster. The rotating shift roster will require the employee to work all shifts within a 24 hour/7 days per week roster. This position also involves working across all Canberra Hospital Perioperative Services (Building 12 and Building 5).
