**The Role**
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Information Management, the Library Technician will be the first point of contact for library enquiries, an advocate for self-service and have access to a comprehensive set of resources to aid in the delivery of high quality, accurate and timely library services. You will take the lead in promoting, raising awareness, and ensuring productive use of the library resources and services.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS Level 6 may include:
- Assess the suitability of digital resources available, manage the acquisition/procurement process, and user subscriptions to services.
- Use standard and specialised reference tools to respond to users queries and provide guidance for self-research.
- Manage the cataloguing of library resources in a range of formats and develop and review cataloguing processes for the library and oversee day-to-day cataloguing practices.
- Manage the Library’s off-site retrieval and depositing process.
- Ensure the Library has current and appropriate documented procedures and processes in place to facilitate effective management of the library including instructional materials on the use of library e-resources.
- Oversee the management of ISBN’s and legal deposit schemes.
- Promote Library resources, intranet content, events, and newsletters.
**Qualifications and Education**
Essential
- Completed a Diploma in Library and Information Sciences
- Experience working with physical and digital library resources, with a sound knowledge of the full range of functions undertaken in a library setting.
- Experience in acquisition/procurement activities.
Desirable
- Experience in effectively promoting library collections, resources, and services.
