What's on offer?

Optic Security Group (OSG) have an opportunity for a Security Technician to provide and be responsible for performing skilled technical work across the Australian Capital Territory. Based out of Canberra, this role will see you focusing on large scale CCTV systems, from a service and maintenance perspective, while also carrying out some installation work.

Primarily sitting across servicing and maintaining solutions for electronic security, integrating access control, intruder detection, and CCTV systems, we've also thrown in some software updates for good measure. You will use a variety of commercial security systems, with a focus on Geutebruck CCTV, Gallagher Access Control, Class 5 and Type 1A. This role will see you working across a broad spectrum of client sites, including high level security clearance sites, around ACT.

From top tier security clearance Government Agencies and Commercial Businesses to your local down the way, no matter the client, keeping them involved and informed at all stages is key, as is ensuring not only industry specific standards are adhered to, but client standards and practices as well.

What you'll bring

This won't be your first rodeo; you'll have the experience to back the skills needed, having worked as a Security Technician before. Installing, repairing, cabling, testing and commissioning, you know what to do and how to do it…you may even have your own tools of the trade ready for not, we can help you out there.

• Previous experience as a Security Technician for a minimum of five years.
• Valid and current driver's license is essential – you'll be hitting the roads around ACT to visit client sites.
• Knowledge and experience with Geutebruck and Gallagher security systems\products are must haves
• Current Over and under 12m EWP, High Risk Work Licence and White Card are ideal, however training can be provided where needed.
• Possess relevant ACT Security Licences and AGVSA Clearances.
• Currently have, or the ability to gain a Security Licence, Defence Clearance, and NV1 High Security Clearance.

With a willingness to work independently and autonomously, you will have excellent communication, organisation, time management and customer service skills.
