**THE ROLE**
The purpose of the role of Principal Project Officer is to lead key projects related to reform of the Children and Families service system. This will involve the supervision/coordination of Senior Project/Policy Officers and Policy/Project Officers and engagement of relevant stakeholders in the co-design of new ways of working.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Manage and oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
a) Leading research, analysis and implementation of complex projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.
b) Managing and overseeing projects or sub-projects and being accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
c) Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
- Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
